Protective equipment

For all so-called "high-temperature" work (heating to temperatures of approx. 170° C or above), where polyurethane or isocyanates are present, the work must be regarded as presenting a risk or high risk of exposure to isocyanates, with subsequent health risks if protective equipment is not used.

Respiratory protection, at a minimum a respirator with carbon filter and dust filter P3  , must be used. If large amounts of fumes are produced or if two-component products (with free isocyanates) are used, an oxygen supply/welding mask with oxygen supply should be used.

Work must be performed in premises that comply with national thermosetting plastic  regulations. In large premises, part of the premises should be screened off so that those in the surroundings are not unnecessarily exposed to isocyanates.
