Handling of isocyanates: Background

Various studies, which have been performed as part of a project analyzing isocyanates in the car industry, have shown that varying quantities of isocyanates are briefly produced during high temperature work (such as welding, drilling, cutting and grinding painted metal). This can constitute a health risk, not just for the person performing the work but also for those in the immediate surroundings.
