  1. Open the expansion tank cap to release the pressure. Close the cap.
  2. Remove the cover (1 screw).
  3. Disconnect the negative and positive cables from the battery.
  4. Remove the battery (1 nut).
  5. Undo the expansion tank attachment on the MacPherson strut (1 clip).
  6. Tilt the tank forwards. Unplug the expansion tank level sensor's connector.

  7. Remove the clip securing the relay box wiring harness on the battery holder.
  8. Lift the expansion tank. Pull the lower hose through the wiring harness.
  9. Clamp the hoses connected to the expansion tank using pinch-off pliers.

  10. Tilt the expansion tank forwards and drain the coolant into a suitable receptacle.
  11. Undo the hose clips on the hoses.
  12. Lift out the expansion tank.
