Alternative 1. Gauge reading error across the whole scale

Drain the fuel tank.
- The Read Value should be 0 liters.
Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
Add 10 liters of fuel to the tank.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Read value Tank Contents. Adjust Tank offset to the correct value.
Activate the fuel gauge and check that the gauge reading is correct at all the "breakpoints". Adjust the breakpoints if necessary. For factory-setting of breakpoints see ADJUSTING THE FUEL GAUGE ..
Clear the diagnostic trouble codes in all systems.
- Perform a functional test.
  Test OK?
  1. YES : The steps taken to rectify the fault were correct.
  2. NO : Go to BEFORE CHANGING A CONTROL MODULE .
