Technical Description: Tachometer: Notes
The main instrument unit has an electronic tachometer. The engine control module sends continuous information on the engine speed to the bus.
The tachometer is controlled by a stepping motor. The stepping motor is controlled by voltage pulses from the main instrument unit control module. At engine speeds lower than 1100 RPM (around idling speed) the display will be "damped" to give a more stable reading.
