Important points to bear in mind

  1. Never disconnect the battery while the engine is running.
  2. Never remove the generator while the battery is connected.
  3. Never test-run the generator, in the car or on a test bench, without first connecting up the battery.
  4. Never connect the battery with the wrong polarity. This can damage the car.
    IMPORTANT: When welding electrically on the car, battery connections and all connections to generator should be disconnected. Otherwise, electrical components may be destroyed
