Evaporator Anti-Freeze Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Saab 9-3 and 2000 Saab 9-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Evaporator anti-freeze sensor is clamped onto evaporator outlet pipe. Dashboard Integrated Central Electronics (DICE) control module uses anti-freeze signal to cycle compressor on and off based on evaporator temperature. DICE control module will cycle compressor off when evaporator temperature is less than 37°F (3°C) and cycle compressor on when temperature is more than 41°F (5°C). An anti-freeze sensor failure will generate DTC B2355 in DICE control module and compressor will not cycle on and off.
