Fault symptoms

A short-circuit to B+ gives the symptom that the electrically adjustable passenger seat cannot be operated.
An open-circuit/short-circuit to ground gives the symptom that the seat can be operated irrespective of the ignition key position or door position. The battery will discharge in the end.
