Separate unlocking

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Saab 9-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

For the US and CA markets, the cars are standard equipped with separate unlocking of the driver's door. Separate unlocking means that the door is first unlocked separately. The remaining doors are unlocked when the key is turned a second time, when the button on the remote control is activated a second time as well as when the button on the center console is pushed a second time. In case of key opening from the passenger door, the passenger door is separately unlocked first.

The cars for these markets are equipped with a lock motor that cannot be provided with TSL (Theft Security Lock), that is, the end position of the motor cannot be blocked.
