To remove

  1. Open the tailgate.
  2. Remove the pull handle and the tailgate trim, see DOOR TRIM, TAILGATE
  3. Remove the retainer nuts (2 pcs) that secure the handle from the inside, beside the lock unit.

  4. Remove the bolts that secure the ramp where the license plate lighting is fastened.
  5. Remove the left rear light by removing the 3 nuts for the lamp housing, and the unplug connector in the lamp holder.
    NOTE: To release the light, unsnap the latch that locks over the body panel at the lower left corner.
  6. Remove the combined handle-lighting assembly by removing the left clip and pulling the molding to the left until the right clip slides out of its groove.
