Soft top cover hinges: Removing

  1. Loosen and fold down the luggage compartment upholstery. Place some protection on the boot lid.
  2. Measure the distance on the hinge to the upper nut.
  3. Unplug the connectors for the microswitches and the latch motor. Cut off the cable ties.
  4. Remove the nuts and bolts securing the soft top cover to the hinges. Lift away the top cover.
  5. Remove the soft top cover seal.
  6. Loosen the soft top storage from the edge.

  8. Loosen the outer end on the hinge springs using an Apex screwdriver without Torx bit or a suitable pipe.
  9. Remove the wiring harness from the left hinge.
  10. Open the boot lid.
  11. Mark the position of the left hinge on the body and remove the left hinge.
  12. Lift away the rod with the springs.
  13. Mark the position of the right hinge on the body and remove the bolts securing the hinge.

  15. Pull out the hinge from the joint.
