Fifth bow latch motor: Fitting

  1. Fit the latch motor and tighten the bolts. Respective collision cable end sleeves pointing at each other. Fit new cable ties.

    Tightening torque, two upper bolts: 14 N.m (10.3 lbf ft) 

    Two lower bolts: 7 N.m (5.2 lbf ft) 

  2. Fit the operating arms to the motor.
  3. Plug in the connector.

  5. Run the soft top up and down a few times and check the function.
  6. Refit the shell.

  7. Adjust the lock function. see ADJUSTING THE FIFTH BOW LOCK .
  8. Connect the diagnostics tool and erase any diagnostic trouble code.
  9. Remove the protection and run the soft top to closed position and lock it against the windscreen frame.
