Rear Brake Rotor: Installation

  1. Clean the NEW brake disc from oil and dirt.
  2. Place the brake disc on the hub and tighten the brake disc locking screw using threadlock. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Adjust the parking brake. See PARKING BRAKE SHOES  under ADJUSTMENTS.
  4. Install the brake caliper, apply threadlock Loctite 242 (P/N 74-96-268) to the 2 retaining screws. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Remove the welding clamp and cable tie.
  6. Install the wheels. Tighten lug studs to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Lower the car to the floor and depress the brake pedal to force out the brake pistons.
  8. Check the parking brake and adjust if necessary. See PARKING BRAKE SHOES  under ADJUSTMENTS.
  9. Check the brake fluid and top off with DOT 4 brake fluid as necessary. Test drive the car and check the operation of the brakes.
