Rear Brake Caliper: Removal

  1. Raise the car and remove the wheel.
  2. Press the brake pistons back, using a pair of slip-joint pliers.
  3. Depress the brake pedal slightly, using a brake pedal clamp. Remove fuse No. 12 for the brake lights.
  4. Detach the brake pipe from the brake caliper. Plug the brake pipe and the brake caliper.
  5. Remove the pins and retaining spring.
  6. Remove the brake pads. See REAR BRAKE PADS  .
  7. Remove the 2 brake caliper retaining bolts and lift away the brake caliper.
