Master Cylinder: Removal

- Remove the engine cover.
- Unplug the connector from the brake fluid reservoir cover. See Fig 1 .
- Drain the brake fluid from the brake fluid reservoir. Use Bleeding Equipment.
- Place a tray or shop cloth under the master cylinder to catch leaking fluid.
- Remove the lower brake pipe from the master cylinder.
- Remove the upper brake pipe from the master cylinder.
- On manual transmission equipped models, remove the hose from the brake fluid reservoir.
- Remove the 2 master cylinder retaining nuts and lift out the master cylinder.
- Transfer the brake fluid reservoir to the NEW master cylinder.
