Front Brake Pads: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Saab 9-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the NEW brake pads in the brake caliper.
    • The outer brake pads are equipped with acoustic wear warning devices that must be face down.
    • The inboard brake pads must be installed with the arrows pointing in the direction of rotation of the brake disc when the car is driven in a forward direction.
  2. Install the brake caliper, clean and install the guide pins. Tighten caliper pins to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Install the dust caps and the clip.
  4. Install the wheel. Tighten wheel lug studs to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Lower the car and depress the brake pedal to press out the brake pistons. Top off with DOT 4 brake fluid.
