Clutch & Brake Pedal Bracket: Installation

- Install the clutch pedal on the bolt.
- Beginning with the nut in the engine bay, install and secure the left-hand clutch pedal bracket. See Figure . Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Tighten the pedal bracket's retaining nut under the dashboard. See Figure . Tighten to specification. Install the auxiliary spring and clip on the clutch pedal.
- Install the right-hand portion of the clutch pedal bracket with the master cylinder at the firewall and the clutch pedal bolt.
- Install the nut on the clutch pedal bolt, but DO NOT tighten.
- Check that the auxiliary spring of the clutch pedal is correctly mounted.
- Tighten the right-hand portion of the clutch pedal bracket to the firewall. See Figure . Tighten to specification.
- Connect the supply hose to the master cylinder.
- Connect the delivery pipe and install the clip.
- Install the main fuse box and connect the alarm's hood switch. See Figure .
- Tighten the clutch pedal nut. See Figure . Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the pin and clip to the pedal.
- Install the air duct to the side defroster and secure the wiring harness.
- Install the pedal switch.
- Pull back the clutch pedal so that the switch is adjusted to the correct position. If the switch presses the pedal down, there may be malfunctions.
- Install the knee shield, floor air duct and lower panel. See Figure .
- Top off with DOT 4 brake fluid as necessary.
- Bleed the clutch. See CLUTCH SYSTEM under BLEEDING.
- Test the clutch and cruise control.
