Front Brake Caliper: Assemble

  1. Thoroughly clean bore of caliper body with brake cleaner. DO NOT use petroleum based cleaners.
  2. Coat the piston sealing ring with the grease supplied in the kit. Also grease the dust cap.
  3. Place the NEW piston seal into the inner groove in the brake cylinder.
  4. Install the dust cap on the brake piston.
  5. Press the dust cap's collar into the brake cylinder's outer groove.
  6. Press the piston into the brake cylinder by such an amount that the dust cap fastens in the brake piston's groove.
  7. Install the brake pads. The right and left outer brake pads are not the same. The pads should be fitted with the metal warning strip facing down.
  8. Install the front brake caliper. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER  .
