Pin 1 of the reversing light switch (31) is connected to pin 9 (M) of the Underhood Electrical Center, UEC; (342). Pin 2 of the reversing light switch is connected to ground. When the gear selector is shifted to "R", the reversing light switch (31) closes and UEC pin 9 is grounded. UEC sends the bus message "Reverse gear, manual ON". If the ignition is on, REC (701) will feed B+ on pin 1 (T-C) and pin 11 (T-B) to pin 1 of the left or right reversing light (32/418HL or 32/418HR, respectively). Both light clusters (418HL/HR), in which the reversing lamps are located, are connected to ground on pin 2.
