Engine speed does not go down: Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Saab 9-3 and 2002 Saab 9-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The TCS system reacts to a speed difference over 5 km/h on the front or rear wheels to counteract skidding. If, for example, the tire diameter on the front wheels differs from that of the rear wheels, the TCS system reacts as if there is a skid and does not allow engine speed to decrease.
- Switch off the TCS system using the TCS button and check if the fault remains.
- Check that all wheels have the same tire diameter. The maximum permissible difference in radius between the front and rear wheels is 5%.
