Switch in soft top cover cylinder
The soft top cover is operated with a hydraulic cylinder located on the right side in the luggage compartment. During operation, the control module must know when the hydraulic piston is in its respective end positions lower/upper. Therefore, there is an end position switch in the hydraulic cylinder which provides information to the control module when the soft top cover is in the upper position (open). The control module receives information of the soft top cover bottom end position from two microswitches positioned in each of the soft top cover locks.
The end position switch consists of the cylinder housing (ground), a contact plate fitted in the cylinder housing end and a spring fitted on the piston. The control module outputs B+ via a 1 kOhm resistor on pin 18 (switch bottom position) and pin 31, and when the piston reaches the bottom end position, the spring on the piston will touch the contact plate and cylinder housing, resulting in grounding of the control module input in question.
