Switch in main cylinder
The control module operates the soft top with two main cylinders positioned by the soft top body mountings. During operation, the control module must know when the hydraulic piston is in its respective end position (open/closed). Therefore, there is an end position switch in each end of the hydraulic cylinder on the left side in the soft top mechanism.
The end position switch consists of a cylinder housing (ground), a contact plate fitted on the cylinder housing end and a spring positioned on the piston. The control module outputs B+ via a 1 kOhm resistor on pin 2 (switch upper position) and pin 16 (switch bottom position), and when the piston reaches an end position, the spring fitted on the piston touches the contact plate and the cylinder housing, which results in grounding of the control module input in question.
