SID messages
If the STC control module detects a malfunction in the system while the soft top is being operated, it will immediately halt the sequence and send a request on the bus for text and acoustic messages. SID displays the text message at the same time as it sounds an acoustic signal.
The following CHECK messages are available for the Saab 9-3 Convertible:

Cause |
| CHECK SOFT TOP |
- Something is obstructing the hydraulic operation of the soft top.
- The soft top has not locked at the front on both sides.
- The fifth bow has not locked to the soft top cover.

| CHECK SOFT TOP LATCHES |
- The soft top has not locked to the windscreen frame.
- Attempt to lower soft top while it is locked to the windscreen frame.

| CHECK SOFT TOP STORAGE |
- The soft top storage is not in its bottom position.
- A large object is lying under the soft top storage and obstructs the soft top space.
|
| FINISH SOFT TOP MOTION |
- Raising/lowering the soft top has been interrupted.
- Attempt to open boot lid while soft top is in motion.

| CHECK SOFT TOP COVER |
- The soft top cover latches have not locked.
- The soft top cover latches have not unlocked.
|
| SOFT TOP FAILURE |
- The STC control module has detected a serious malfunction and will not allow automatic operation of the soft top to continue. The soft top can be operated manually.

| CLOSE BOOT LID |
- Operation of the soft top is being prevented by an open boot lid.
