Procedure 2

Symptom:  Creaking noise from the lower section of the A-pillar.

Cause:  Insufficient spot-weld through three plates.

1. Drill a 7 mm hole through the two outer plates on the spot-weld which are located:

   1. 1.a. 120 mm from center of bolt head on door stop.
   2. 1.b. 23 mm from the plate flange
2. Plug weld as shown in the illustration.
3. Grind the welds.
4. Apply primer to all ground surfaces.
5. Apply anti-corrosion agent internally after painting. Use Terotex HV 400.
