Fitting extra ground cable between the fifth bow mounting and cylinder: Fitting

This method assumes that the following DTC have been generated: B2015 and B2016. The cause may involve the cylinder rod which does not have a sufficient ground contact. In order to maintain a stable contact, an extra ground cable can be fitted between the fifth bow mounting and cylinder.

1. Operate the soft top to a position where the fifth bow and soft top cover are up.
2. Place the ground cable on the inside of the lock clip.
3. Change the pin for the new pin on the fifth bow's left cylinder.
4. Open the hose clamp and fit it around the upper hydraulic hose's connection.
5. Pull the ground cable under the hydraulic hose connection and under the screw. Fit the hose clamp screw.
   NOTE: Fit the ground cable and the lock clip exactly as shown in the figure.

6. Connect the diagnostic tool to the vehicle and delete any diagnostic fault codes.
7. Run the soft top 5 full cycles. Check the function and that the ground cable does not get entangled.
