The SID unit has an integral speaker to reproduce sound for various functions. The SID unit activates acoustic signals for its own functions and on request from other systems connected to the bus.

The signals are assigned priority as follows:

• Warning
• Time alarm (SID unit 2 only)
• Speed warning (SID unit 2 only, legal requirement ME)
• Reminder (warning, key, parking lights and seat belt)
• Confirmation (after pressing button)
• Direction indicators (TICK TACK)
