Seat Belt PRETENSIONERS & Seat Belts: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Saab 9-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install NEW seat belt to belt pretensioner, and connect seat belt pretensioner electrical connector. Connect Tech 2 scan tool.
  2. Clear any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present and turn ignition off. See DIAGNOSTICS . Turn ignition on again and wait at least 10 seconds. If code appears, go to appropriate test. If no problems are detected, complete seat belt pretensioner reinstallation by reversing removal procedure. Tighten seat belt pretensioner retaining screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Check AIR BAG warning light to ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
