Passenger-Side Air Bag Module: Removal

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
- Passenger-side air bag module is located in right side of instrument panel. Remove screws, bolts and expansion rivets securing glove box and pull glove box forward. Disconnect glove box light and set glove box aside. Remove screw and side panel. Remove 5 screws and knee shield. Remove floor and side air ducts. Disconnect air bag connector. Remove screw holding safety band to steering beam. Remove 6 air bag retaining nuts. Lift out air bag. See Figure.
