Air Bag Control Module

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Saab 9-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Air bag control module contains microprocessor, an electromechanical safety sensor, micro-mechanical acceleration sensor, voltage converter, and 3 backup power sources. It has capacity to activate 6 different detonator circuits.

Air bag control module performs system self-check of air bag system internal circuits every time ignition switch is turned to RUN position and energizes AIR BAG warning light during initial system self-check and whenever fault is detected. Faults are stored in air bag control module memory and communicated through Data Link Connector (DLC).
