Oil Pressure Warning Light

  1. Disconnect engine oil pressure sensor. Connect jumper wire between oil pressure sensor connector and ground. Turn ignition on. If light comes on, replace pressure sensor. After repair, go to next step. If light does not come on, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect Main Instrument Unit (MIU) 20-pin connector at rear of instrument cluster. See Figure . Connect test light between 20-pin connector terminal No. 2 (Yellow wire) and battery positive voltage. Connect jumper wire between oil pressure sensor connector and ground. If test light comes on, replace oil pressure light. After repair, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Yellow wire. After repair, go to next step.
  3. Clear DTCs. Using Tech 1 scan tool, perform a functional test of oil pressure warning light. If warning light functions, system is okay. If warning light does not function, replace MIU ECU. See ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
