Selector Lever Position Indicator Light
- Check if any DTCs are present. If any DTCs are present, perform DTC diagnosis. If no DTCs are present, ensure selector lever position connector is secure. See Fig 1 . If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Use Tech 1 scan tool to contact Main Instrument Unit (MIU). Read selector lever position value using 4 scan tool input "A", "B", "C" and "PA". See SELECTOR LEVER POSITION TEST table. If scan tool reading is to specification, continue to next input test. Perform each scan tool input test in order. If a scan tool reading is not to specification, go to step 3 .
- If a reading in scan tool input "A" is not to specification, repair open circuit in Violet/White wire between MIU 22-pin connector terminal No. 2 and TCM connector terminal No. 9. See Figure . If a reading in scan tool input "B" is not to specification, repair open circuit in Green wire between MIU 22-pin connector terminal No. 3 and TCM connector terminal No. 10. If a reading in scan tool input "C" is not to specification, repair open circuit in Gray wire between MIU 22-pin connector terminal No. 4 and TCM connector terminal No. 28. If a reading in scan tool input "PA" is not to specification, repair open circuit in White/Yellow wire between MIU 22-pin connector terminal No. 5 and TCM connector terminal No. 27. After repair, go to next step.
- Clear DTCs. Use scan tool to check selector lever position indicator light function. If selector lever position indicator light function is okay, system is okay. If selector lever position indicator light function is not okay, replace MIU ECU. See ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
