Description & Operation
WARNING:
Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
Main Instrument Unit (MIU) contains speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, warning indicator lights and clock. Saab Information Display (SID) will warn of any front or rear light failure, washer fluid and coolant level, service intervals, and other information. Turbo models have a boost gauge. MIU has limited self-diagnostic capabilities.
To improve night driving conditions inside vehicle, NIGHT PANEL mode can be selected. When this button is pressed, only speedometer will be illuminated.
