Odometer/Trip Meter
- If trip meter resets to zero when vehicle is started, go to next step. If trip meter does not reset to zero when vehicle is started, use Tech 1 scan tool to activate odometer. If all segments illuminate, go to step 5
. If all segments do not illuminate, check bulb behind odometer display in Main Instrument Unit (MIU). Replace as necessary. If bulb is okay, replace odometer/trip meter display unit. After repair, go to step 5
.
- Connect test light between upper pin in fuse holder No. 35 and ground. Fuse is located in fuse panel, at end of instrument panel. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair wiring to fuse. After repair, go to step 5
.
- Connect test light between lower pin in fuse holder No. 35 and ground. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, replace fuse. After repair, go to step 5
.
- Disconnect Main Instrument Unit (MIU) 12-pin connector located at rear of instrument cluster. See Fig 1
. Connect test light between 12-pin connector terminal No. 7 (Red wire) and ground. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Red wire between fuse No. 35 and 12-pin connector terminal No. 7. After repair, go to next step.
- Clear DTCs. Perform a functional test of odometer display. If odometer functions, system is okay. If odometer does not function, replace MIU ECU. See ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU)
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
