Brake Fluid Level Warning Light
- If brake fluid light does not come on under any circumstances, go to next step. If brake fluid light is always on, go to step 5 . If brake fluid light does not come on for 3 seconds when ignition is turned on, replace bulb. After repair, go to step 6 .
- Disconnect 2-pin brake fluid level connector at master cylinder. Connect test light between battery positive voltage and 2-pin connector terminal "A" (Brown/White wire). If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Brown/White wire between brake fluid level connector terminal "A" and ground.
- Disconnect Main Instrument Unit (MIU) 20-pin connector at rear of instrument cluster. See Figure . Connect test light between battery positive voltage and 20-pin connector terminal No. 12 (Brown/White wire). If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Brown/White wire between MIU 20-pin connector terminal No. 12 and brake fluid level sensor.
- Connect jumper wire between brake fluid level sensor connector terminals. If test light comes on, replace brake fluid level sensor. After repair, go to step 6 . If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Brown/White wire between MIU connector terminal No. 12 and brake fluid level sensor. After repair, go to step 6 .
- Disconnect 2-pin brake fluid level connector at master cylinder. If brake fluid warning light goes out, replace brake fluid level switch. After repair, go to next step. If brake fluid warning light does not go out, check Brown/White wire for a short circuit to ground. After repair, go to next step.
- Clear DTCs. Perform a functional test of brake fluid level warning light. If brake fluid warning light functions, system is okay. If brake fluid level warning light does not function, replace MIU ECU. See ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
