Anti-Lock Brake Warning Light

  1. Turn ignition on. Using Tech 1 scan tool, activate ABS warning light. If light comes on, go to next step. If light does not come on, replace bulb. After repair, go to step  3 .
  2. Disconnect Main Instrument Unit (MIU) 20-pin connector located at rear of instrument cluster. See Figure . Connect test light between 20-pin connector terminal No. 10 (Gray/Green wire) and battery positive voltage. Turn ignition on. If test light comes on for 3 seconds, then goes out for .5 seconds, replace ABS bulb. After repair, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Gray/Green wire between 20-pin connector terminal No. 10 and ABS module connector terminal No. 21. ABS module is located in engine compartment, next to master cylinder. See Fig 1 .
  3. Clear DTCs. Perform a functional test of anti-lock brake warning light. If warning light functions, system is okay. If warning light does not function, replace MIU ECU. See ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
