The SID's Night Panel function turns off the lighting for the tachometer during normal driving. Should engine speed exceed a given number of revs, the tachometer lighting will be turned on. By means of this command it is possible to change the engine speed at which the main instrument unit turns on the lighting for the tachometer when Night Panel is activated. The default engine speed set at the factory is 5500 rpm for cars with a manual gearbox and 5900 rpm for cars with automatic transmission.

Adjustment can be checked afterwards by activating Night Panel with the diagnostic tool.
