To remove

  1. Remove upper and lower steering column cowls, 3 screws.
    NOTE: Exercise care when removing the steering column cowls. The 4 snaps holding them in place may easily break.
  2. Remove the direction indicator and windscreen wiper stalk switches.
  3. Remove the radio.
    NOTE: Make a note of the radio code (if the radio is not a Saab unit).
  4. Remove the SID unit.
  5. Remove all switches, shiny buttons and the seat -belt warning lamp.

  6. Remove the instrument plate, 9 screws.
  7. Detach the instrument plate and move it outwards into the cabin area.
  8. Remove the four screws securing the main instrument unit.

  9. Unplug the connectors at the rear of the main instrument unit.
  10. Lift out the main instrument unit.
