Removal & Installation (9000 Series)

  1. Drain coolant. Disconnect battery negative cable. Remove rubber elbow from between throttle body and mass airflow meter. Unplug connector from throttle position sensor. Disconnect hoses from throttle body. Remove throttle body retaining bolts. Move throttle body aside.
  2. Unplug connector from automatic idle control valve. Move AIC valve aside. See FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect fuel lines at fuel pressure regulator and rail. Disconnect wiring from fuel injectors. Remove fuel rail and injectors as an assembly.
  3. Disconnect temperature sensor and ground points on intake manifold. Remove harness from clips under manifold. Disconnect EGR tube and Red-marked hose (if equipped). Remove retaining bolts and intake manifold. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
