Shock Absorbers & Coil Springs: Removal

Raise vehicle and support. Remove wheel and pins holding brake caliper to caliper bracket.

NOTE: On some 1965 and 1966 models with guide plates, the guide plates must be free. This allows removal of brake caliper.

Free brake caliper towards the rear. Disconnect one end of strap supporting axle. Install spring compressor. Remove nuts and bolts securing shock absorber to axle and crossmember. Rotate axle down and remove spring with shock absorber.
