Antenna cable in telephone control unit area

1. 1.1  Release and disconnect electric plug connection telephone control unit -3-  .
2. 1.2  Loosen tie-wrap -4-  .
3. 1.3  Disconnect damaged area of the antenna cable -1-  .

   Information 

   Antenna cable with a multi-pin electric plug connection -2-  cannot be repaired. A repair wire harness must be -1-  used for this.

   The repair wire harness is routed up to the possible connection points for the affected antenna cables and repaired at the connection points.

   Multi-pin connector -3-  must not be opened at plug lock -A-  . The connector is damaged when opened.

   Information 

   The specified disconnection points are recommendations for a possible area that enables disconnection and repair.

Prepare the repair wire harness for repairing the antenna cable.

Connection points for antenna cable

1. 2.1  On the main wire harness -11-  at the marked area -A-  , wind up the sleeve. If necessary, the sleeve can also be wound up at the cutting areas -B-  or -C-  .
2. 2.2  Determine the associated antenna cable by performing a continuity test via the shields and mark the antenna cables, paying attention to the pin assignment.
   • Disconnect LTE antenna 1 (connection point front left bumper) -6-  .
   • Disconnect LTE antenna 2 (rear shelf) -8-  .
   • Disconnect LTE antenna 4 (tailgate) -9-  .
   • Disconnect connection point for LTE antenna 3 (mirror base) -7-  .
3. 2.3  Secure repair wire harness along the main wire harness and shorten it to the required lengths.

   Information 

   Antenna cable with a multi-pin electric plug connection -2-  cannot be repaired. A repair wire harness must be -1-  used for this.

   The repair wire harness is routed up to the possible connection points for the affected antenna cables and repaired at the connection points.

   • Disconnect connection point for LTE antenna 3 (mirror base) -7-  .
   • Disconnect LTE antenna 4 (luggage compartment cover at the left side) -9-  .
3. 3.3  Secure repair wire harness along the main wire harness and shorten it to the required lengths.

1. 5.1  Connect electric plug connections until plugs lock perceptibly.
2. 5.2  Secure antenna cable with a new  tie-wrap.
