Removing Drive Belt For Generator

WARNING: Rotating components

Danger of limbs being trapped or severed
1. → Disconnect power supply to the drive motor of components or to the Battery.

NOTIFICATION

Drive belt removed incorrectly

Risk of damage to drive belt
1. → Only remove the drive belt when it is cold.
2. → Replace damaged drive belt.

NOTIFICATION

Drive belt breaks and becomes jammed

Risk of damage to components (trim panels, electric cables, etc.)
Leaks at the crankshaft vibration damper sealing ring
Vibration damper can overheat and lose its strength
1. → Following belt breakage, check adjacent components and the interior of the engine compartment for damage. Repair or replace damaged parts.
2. → Find out why the belt broke. Check deflection rollers or crankshaft vibration dampers for prior damage.
3. → If the drive belt is jammed, replace the vibration damper.

Use chalk or a felt-tip pen to mark the rolling direction of the drive belt for the generator for re-installation.

Tensioning device for generator drive belt
1. 2.1 Fit ring wrench at the hexagon on the tensioning device -2- and swivel the tensioning device -3- anti-clockwise. -Arrow-
2. 2.2 Lock the tensioning device -3- using > T10060A - locking pin at the bores -4- .
3. 2.3 Remove drive belt for generator -1- .
