Removing Lower Trailing Arm

- Unscrew nut -1-
and remove connecting link for front angle sensor for headlight beam adjustment -2-
from the lower trailing arm.

- Loosen lower trailing arm -1-
.
Lower trailing arm
- 2.1 Loosen lower trailing arm -1-
from spring strut forks.
- 2.1.1 Counter at nut -2- and unscrew and remove screw on spring strut fork -3- .
- 2.2 Loosen lower trailing arm -1-
from front-axle carrier.
- 2.2.1 Unscrew screw securing lower trailing arm to front-axle carrier -4- and counter at nut -5- at the same time.
- 2.2.2 Remove lower trailing arm -1- from front-axle carrier.
- 2.1 Loosen lower trailing arm -1-
from spring strut forks.
- Loosen tie-rod ball -1-
from the wheel bearing housing -2-
.

- 3.1 Unscrew nut -3- as far as required from joint pin for tie-rod ball -4- until it is flush with the upper edge of the joint pin -4- .
- 3.2 Press off joint pin for tie-rod ball -4- using > T40010A - ball joint puller .
- 3.3 Unscrew nut -3- from joint pin for tie-rod ball -4- , counter at the hexagon socket of the joint pin -4- and remove tie-rod ball -1- from the wheel bearing housing -2- .
- Remove lower trailing arm -1-

Lower trailing arm on wheel bearing housing
- 4.1 Unscrew nut -2- from joint pin for lower trailing arm as far as required until it is flush with the upper edge of the joint pin.
- 4.2 Use > T40010A - ball joint puller to press lower trailing arm off trailing arm joint -3- .
- 4.3 Unscrew nut -2- from joint pin for lower trailing arm, counter at the hexagon socket of the joint pin and remove lower trailing arm -1- from lower trailing arm joint -3- .
- 4.4 Remove lower trailing arm -1- .
