Preliminary Work

  1. Observe safety instructions when working on the fuel system.
    • 2X00IN Basic safety instructions for working on the fuel system 
  2. Connect a battery charger.
  3. Attach or mount a warning sign -1-  in a clearly visible position on the vehicle.

  4. Only when draining the fuel using the PIWIS Tester: 

    Disconnect supply line at the connection point on the underbody.

  5. Only when draining the fuel using a fuel transfer unit: 

    Disconnect fuel pump.
