Calibrating Control Unit For Lane Change Assist

The PIWIS Tester  instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear on the PIWIS Tester. 

  1. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
  2. Select the vehicle type if required.
  3. Select the Lane Change Assist 1, right (master)  control unit in the overview  . Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
  4. Maintenance/repairs  must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
  5. Calibrate Lane Change Assist  must now be selected.
  6. Follow the instructions on the Tester.
  7. Perform calibration of master and slave control units for Lane Change Assist according to menu guidance.
  8. Read and follow the information and instructions on the Tester.
  9. Read out the fault memory  , correct faults that are stored if necessary and clear the fault memory.
  10. Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
  11. Once you have calibrated Lane Change Assist, carry out a test drive and check the Lane Change Assist function.
  12. Read out the fault memory again after the test drive.
