Removing Control Unit For Steering Wheel Electronics

Airbag contact unit not set correctly 

• Malfunction in driver's airbag unit 
  1. → When removing and installing the steering column switch, turn the steering wheel so that the wheels are in straight-ahead position. This ensures that the airbag contact unit is locked in the central position.
  2. → Do not trap the cable of the airbag contact unit.
  3. → Check that the cable is routed correctly.

1. Disconnect steering wheel electronics control unit -2-  .

   Steering wheel electronics control unit

   1. 1.1  Release electric plug connections -1-  and disconnect them from the steering wheel electronics control unit -2-  .
   2. 1.2  Unscrew fastening screw -3-  .
2. Carefully disengage locking mechanisms -1-  on the steering wheel electronics control unit -2-  and remove it from the steering-column switch -3-  .
