Voltage drop
- Irreparable damage to control unit
- Damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Control unit programming/coding is aborted
- Malfunctions in the control unit, even during programming/coding
→ Switch off ignition before disconnecting the control unit.
→ Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming/coding.
→ Connect the battery charger with at least > current 90 A to the vehicle battery.

Ensure the consistency of a combination of hardware and software versions
After performing software updates, always make sure that the target software versions are also actually installed on the control units and that the system is therefore ensured.
This also applies in the case of hardware replacement.

The instructions in the Tester take precedence, since the description may be different with later Tester releases.
The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear in the Tester .
- Install strut.
- Install rear PDCC control unit.
- If the servo motor was replaced:
- 3.1 Connect the PIWIS Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on the ignition.
- 3.2 Start the diagnostic software.
- 3.2.1 Select Engine electronics (DME) control unit.
- 3.2.2 Select the Maintenance/repairs tab.
- 3.3 Teach mechanical end stops of the servo motor and engine immobiliser:
- 3.3.1 Select the Replace servo motor (clutches) procedure with F12.
- 3.3.2 Follow the instructions on the Tester.
- 3.4 In the overview , press F7 to switch to the Additional menu .
- 3.5 Read out all fault memories , work through faults that are stored if necessary and clear the fault memories.
- 3.6 Exit the diagnostic application. End operational readiness on the vehicle. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
