Installing Compressor

Information 

You will need a second mechanic to help you with this step.

1. Install compressor -1-  with holder -2-  .
   1. 1.1 Connect and lock electric plug connections -4-  on control unit -5-  and position compressor -1-  with holder -2-  .
   2. 1.2 Fit and tighten nuts -3-  .

      > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

2. Secure suction line -2-  on compressor -1-  .
   1. 2.1 Connect suction line -2-  and fit spring band clamp -3-  using > VAS 6890 - spring band clamp pliers  .

   Information 

   Check the following before installing the air line:

   • Check that the cutting ring -1-  and Voss threaded joint -2-  are still on the air line -3-  .
   • Check that the air line is fitted correctly.

   Only one marking -1-  on the air line should be visible.

   Pull the air line briefly against the insertion direction. If it cannot be pulled out, the air line is fitted correctly.

3. Install air lines -2 and 3-  on valve unit -1-  and check the allocation of the air lines -2 and 3-  according to the markings on the valve unit -1-  .
   1. 3.1 Connect air lines -2-  and tighten Voss threaded joints -4-  .

      > Tightening torque 2.3 Nm (1.7 ftlb.) 

   2. 3.2 Connect air line -3-  and tighten Voss threaded joint -5-  .

   > Tightening torque 3.5 Nm (2.6 ftlb.)

4. Connect and lock electric plug connections -1 and 2-  on valve unit -3-  and compressor -4-  .
