WARNING: Incorrect handling of high-voltage components
  • Electric shock
  • Short circuit
  • Fire
  • Explosion

→ Only appropriately trained and authorized persons may work on high-voltage vehicles and components.

→ Required qualification: High voltage technician or high voltage expert.

→ Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.

→ Always use insulated tools, such as an > VAS 6883 - insulated tool set  when working on these parts.

→ Observe general warning notices for working on the high-voltage system.

    > 2X00IN GENERAL WARNING NOTICES FOR WORKING ON THE HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM

Preliminary work for measurement 1  (high-voltage charger, electric air-conditioning compressor, electric passenger compartment heater, charging socket and related wire harnesses)

  1. Remove luggage compartment trim at the left.

    > WM, 700319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SIDE TRIM PANEL FOR REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT - Coupe or WM, 70031930 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SIDE TRIM PANEL FOR REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT - Wagon

  2. Remove subwoofer.

    Measurement 1

  6. Perform measurement 1.
    1. 6.1 Setpoint value ≥ 10 MOhm
  7. Evaluate test results.
    1. 7.1 If the measured value is within  the tolerance range, continue with measurement 5
    2. 7.2 If the measured value is outside of the tolerance range, continue with measurement 2
