Removing Cylinder Head Cover (Right Cylinder Bank)

The steps described here are shown on the right cylinder bank, but also apply for the opposite side.
- Remove stoppers on camshafts -1-
.
- 1.1 Unscrew screw on stopper -2- .
- 1.2 Remove stoppers on camshafts -1- .

- Release and disconnect electric plug connections for camshaft sensors -1-

- Remove cylinder head cover -21-
.
- 3.1 Unscrew screws on cylinder head cover -1 to 20- .
- 3.2 Depending on type:
Screw two screws (M8 x 25) into the threaded bores -Arrows- by hand.
- 3.2.1 Tighten screws alternately by half a turn until the cylinder head cover -21- is loosened.
- 3.3 Loosen cylinder head cover using a plastic wedge.
- 3.4 Remove cylinder head cover -21- .
