Replacing HV Battery Control Unit

Incorrect handling of high-voltage components

→ Only appropriately trained and authorized persons may work on high-voltage vehicles and components.
→ Required qualification, high voltage technician or high voltage expert.
→ Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.
→ Always use insulated tools, such as an > VAS 6883 - insulated tool set when working on these parts.
→ Observe general warning notices for working on the high-voltage system.

- Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
- Select the vehicle type if required.
- Select the high-vo'tage battery control unit in the overview. Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
- Coding/programming must be selected.
- Automatic coding must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
- The Tester displays the message: Coding completed successfully.
Vehicles with country code C33 (China), continue with step 7.
Vehicles with all other country codes, continue with step 8.
- Enter the serial number of he high-voltage battery into the high-voltage battery control unit.
Serial number (shown as an example)
- 7.1 Customer-specific settings must be selected.
- 7.2 Select Serial number (high-voltage battery).
- 7.3 Enter serial number of the high-voltage battery.
- Read out the fault memory, work through active faults and erase the fault memory.
- Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
